UMIK-1 is the next treat that is on its way to the home cinema. This is a microphone that can be easily connected directly to a PC via USB.
Is quite happy with the sound in the home theater. But can certainly get even better with the help of some measuring equipment and maybe some damping kits for reflections etc.
Must also have software ala Room Acoustics Software to be able to process the signals from the mic. Probably a bit of a steep learning curve on this I think. But I hope that I understand the information I get from this, and what measures may be needed to get the acoustics right. Will come with more info when this case is in house.
It is evening, and outside the wind is howling around the corners of the house. Then it is extra cozy to be able to retreat into a dark and quiet home theater. Thought to see White House Down tonight. If it's good I might post some screenshots later. Regardless, good movie night to everyone ..
My projector is calibrated where I bought it. But it was in 2D and not in 3D. So I thought I would buy a test drive that could display test images in 3D. Then there is a blu-ray from Spears & Munsil that seems quite promising. Have at least placed an order for this via Amazon. Then we'll see how well I can set up a 3D image in my own direction.
